  • Morgan Samuel – CANCELLED

Unfortunately, Morgan Samuel’s presentation will be cancelled due to a skiiing accident. We wish him all the best for a quick recovery.

Following his Honours Year at Wintec, Morgan moved to Wellington in late 2004 with the dream of joining Peter Jackson’s Oscar-winning team, who had just created the Rings trilogy, and King Kong. By late 2005 he struck it lucky, getting his foot in the door on his first feature film No. 2  as Assistant Dialogue Editor. From here he hasn’t looked back; for 18 months working as an engineer at one of the country’s leading audio post-production facilities Marmalade Audio, then going freelance again in early 2007 to work on ’30 Days of Night’ and tour the world as a live Sound FX Engineer with a touring show.

In his 5 years in the industry he has racked up over 10 TV and documentary film credits, and 5 feature film credits including The Lovely Bones and District 9. In his spare time he produces low budget albums and band recordings, is a regular in Theatre Sound, Composition & Music performance, and also works as a private music teacher and session musician in Wellington.

Morgan will be sharing with you his experiences so far in the industry, and will give some pointers about how to succeed with your chosen dream. His workshop will be an in depth 2 hour hands-on experience, covering the basics of Sound Design and Precision Sound Editing.
